The Accutron Watch

was Bulova's original 'Tuning Fork' watch, hence the tuning fork symbol adorning every Accutron watch. Before the era of the quartz watch, the Bulova Accutron was the best battery powered watch in the world. In Accutron watches, an electric current was run through a tiny tuning fork which vibrated at a relatively constant frequency. That energy and constant frequency of that vibration was harnessed to power the watch, and the watches made a really cool humming sound.
